These Ministers of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, assist the priest with the distribution of the Eucharist at Holy Mass.
The duties for this ministry:
To assist the priest and to assist their fellow parishioners in the distribution of Holy Eucharist during Mass.
To help clean up after Mass and prepare for the next liturgy.
The skills, abilities, and gifts desired to serve in this ministry:
This Minister must be a baptized/confirmed Catholic fully initiated into the Catholic Church.
One must be at least a Senior in high school, and should be trained both at the parish and by the Diocese of Gaylord, and must renew that training once a year.
One must know and understand what to do, when to do it and why we do what we do.
One should know where the items used for the Mass are stored and what each are used for at Mass.
The Eucharist Minister must truly believe in their heart, that they are distributing the Body and Blood of Christ, not just a symbol, but the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.
One must dress appropriately for serving at Mass (no jeans or t-shirts)and always be aware that they are ministers not just a volunteer at Mass.
One must be faithful to this ministry when they are scheduled to serve or arrange for a sub if they are unable to be present at Mass.

The Ministry Leader, or the parish staff, prepares a schedule for Eucharistic Ministers; the Eucharistic Minister should be aware of the Mass they are scheduled for and be present at that time or call a substitute.
