The primary purpose of this ministry is to invite parishioners to come together and use their gifts in a way that will create a garden of peace and prayer. This beautiful garden will provide an opportunity for members of the parish, to spend time planting, tending the garden, donating plants, seeds, trees, benches, bushes or other accessories. Through the years as we grow our faith and our faith community so too will our garden flourish.
Duties for this ministry:
Spend some time in prayer and reflection, for the community the garden represents.
Recruit volunteers (individuals, couples or families) to share their time in the garden.
Ministry management. Ensure timely and efficient follow-up to those who serve in ministry by the Garden Committee. Develop a ministry for those who wish to serve in the maintenance of and/or donation for the garden.
Communicate with the parish through bulletin, newsletter and announcements, information about the variety of ways to participate in the garden.
Develop information about the garden to be included in the welcoming program for new parishioners.
Develop a process to memorialize a loved one in the garden.
Provide opportunities for education in simple gardening techniques.
Expand the garden as the parish and opportunities allow.
Evaluate the garden and the committee's efforts on an annual basis.

Committed to prayer and the spiritual life.
Giver of time, talent and treasure both within and outside of the parish.
Able to communicate their thoughts and ideas to the rest of the committee.
Visionary - has a sense of the direction of the parish and the Church.
Some knowledge and understanding of gardening:
Experienced and educated Horticulturist/Gardener.
Some experience and education in gardening.
Desire to experience and learn more about gardening.
Collaborates with and works well with others while respecting the role and the responsibility each other and the pastor.

General meeting days and times for this ministry: It is envisioned that the committee would meet once a month during the planting season and periodically as needed to accomplish goals. The date and time is to be determined by the agreement of the pastor and the Garden Committee members. In addition, there may be sub-committee meetings.
